The Division 2 Mighty Mites in Action

Riverfest 2009

July 1-5 – La Crosse, Wisconsin

Many local resources support the on-the-water activities during Riverfest including three fire departments, county law enforcement agencies, Department of Natural Resources, La Crosse Dive Rescue and many Riverfest boats.

As Auxiliary Patrol Commander, Tom Romaine (standing, at the left) , Division 2 Staff Officer-Operations, represented the U.S. Coast Guard and assigned and coordinated all these resources. The efforts of many people resulted in safe, well organized events.

Deke Slayton Airfest 2005

June 17-19 – La Crosse, Wisconsin Airport

Deanne Romaine (right) really appreciates the shade under the bimini top of husband Tom's new facility which replaced his 14-foot Tin Skiff.

Airfest is always held during the three or four hottest June days, requiring crews to be under way up to six hours a day, with maybe one break.
