Two's News:
  • Division 2 division meeting and Change of Watch is scheduled for 12 January 2008 at Huck Finn's on the Water, North Bay Marina, 127 Marina Drive, La Crosse, Wisconsin (608-791-3509) (See Map). We will begin at 1300 hours with a division meeting and then at approximately 1415 hours we will have member training followed by a tour of SkipperLiner Marine at 1500 hours. The Change of Watch ceremony will begin at 1600 hours, and will be followed by a social hour and buffet dinner (for agenda and menu, see Change of Watch Flyer.) (20 December 2007)
  • 2008 Boat Shows – We will be at the Rochester Sports and Vacation Show in booth #511 on 25, 26 and 27 January 2008 at the Mayo Civic Auditorium in Rochester. Members interested in staffing the booth should contact Gene Nolan (e-mail: GmichaelNolan@aol.com) (20 December 2007)
  • 7030 Mission Activity Report form: Major mission code changes for 2008 – Starting 1 January 2008, members should download and use the updated form. (14 December 2007)
  • Division 2 Officers for 2008 – At the October 13, 2007 division meeting, Mary Strok (DCP-Elect) and Terry Riessen (VCP-Elect) were elected. (19 November 2007)
  • Online Ordering Now Available from the Uniform Distribution Center (UDC) – Members can now use the online web store to order all uniform items the UDC offers from anywhere in the world. The web store can be accessed through the UDCs home page at http://www.uscg.mil/uniforms. First time web store users will need to complete a request form to gain access. The link to this form is located on the web store sign-on page. Once processed, an e-mail will be sent to the member with a user name and password. All regular forms of payment are accepted from individual active duty, reserve and auxiliary members. At this time, unit and exchange orders cannot be processed through the web. (15 December 2006)
  • 2007 Vessel Safety Check (VSC) Decals Now Available at ANSC – Orders for 2007 VSC decals can now be placed by unit elected and materials officers with the Auxiliary National Supply Center (ANSC). VSC specific ordering instructions and a VSC specific order form are provided for ordering decals, forms, and other key materials that vessel examiners will find useful in executing their job: (15 December 2006)
  • Division 2 Officers for 2007 - At the November division meeting, Gene Nolan (DCP) and Jerry Daly (VCP) were reelected for their second terms. Also, Terry Riessen accepted position as On Site Coordinator for the 2007 Fall Conference to be hosted by Division 2 at the Kahler Grand Hotel in Rochester, MN. (4 November 2006)
  • Personnel Security Investigation changes - the requirements for DO (Direct Operational) investigation have been been changed. All Auxiliary members must have a favorable OS (Operational Support) investigation. Only members in the following categories must now undergo the DO (Direct Operational) investigation:
    • Aviators (all levels from Air Observers to Aircraft Commanders)
    • Fingerprint Technicians
    • Any staff as determined by the Sector Commanders (currently the two Sector Commanders have not officially placed anyone in this category)
    • Certain District ELECTED officers - RCO and above.
    All members must have submitted their OS (Operational Support) paperwork by 30 November 2006 or they will be disenrolled. Members who already have a DO (Direct Operational) designation will retain it for 10 years. (27 May 2006)
  • The telephone number to DirAux has changed. Additionally, the DirAux staff no longer has assigned extensions. The DirAux Staff web page has been updated to reflect the new number. The URL to the DirAux Staff web page is http://users.mo-net.com/district8wr/diraux/diraux_staff.htm. The new number is 314-269-2300, press 7 for Auxiliary, the fax is still 314-539-2685.   • The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary has been selected to receive the National Water Safety Congress' National Award for its role in promoting boating and water safety. Only one such award is presented annually to an individual, organization, firm or agency that has made a significant contribution to water safety issues/programs on a national scale. This is the highest award given by the National Water Safety Congress. (12 April 2006)
  • The Fall Training Conference will be hosted by Division 11 (with Division 2 support) at the Kahler Grand Hotel in Rochester, MN on 29-30 September, 2006. More information to follow. (10 April 2006)
